Getting Started

Hello! As your new "bra liaison," our aim is to reduce the anxiety surrounding bra shopping and introduce you to retailers and brands that will improve your posture, appearance and confidence.

To faithfully represent you and provide the best results you will need to provide the measurements and personal preferences below. Yes, we're very thorough. But the more accurate your measurements, the better our ability to advise you and identify the best bras for your shape.

There are eight measurements. Grab the measuring tape (and maybe a friend) and take these measurements bare-breasted. You must provide all measurements in inches.

Measurements

Snug Under Bust

Tuck the tape around your rib cage, under your bust, and pull the tape snug. You don't want the tape to slide, but you don't want to leave a mark either. Provide this measurement in inches to the nearest quarter inch. Round up if you need to.

Tight Under Bust

With the tape the same place as before, pull the tape as tight as you can. Yes... really, really tight. Provide this measurement in inches to the nearest quarter inch. Round up if you need to.

Bust, Standing

Stand up tall and measure your chest around the widest point. This isn't necessarily at the nipple! Provide this measurement in inches to the nearest quarter inch. Round up if you need to.

Bust, Leaning

Bend over until your back and legs create a 90 degree angle. Measure your bust around the widest point. Again, this may not be at the nipple. Provide this measurement in inches to the nearest quarter inch. Round up if you need to.

Bust, On Back

One more bust measurement! Lay flat on your back and measure your bust at the widest point. Allow your breasts to lie as they wish. Provide this measurement in inches to the nearest quarter inch. Round up if you need to.

Inches of Tissue Below IMF

The inframammary fold (IMF) is the point where the bottom of the breast connects with the chest. While standing, measure the distance from the IMF to the bottom of the breast. Perform the measurement for both breasts and enter the larger of the two measurements below. If your breast doesn't fold over, then simply enter a zero.

Distance Between Breasts

Locate the point where the top of your breasts meet your chest then measure the distance between the breasts at this point. This can also be expressed as the width of exposed sternum (sternum not covered by breast tissue). This number could be zero.

Distance from Shoulder to Breast

Measure the distance between the top of the breast (where breast meets chest) to the top of your shoulder.

Shape

To find the perfect bra you must know where tissue is positioned inside the breast. From a leaning position (torso parallel to the floor) and bra-less, answer the following questions.

Which direction do your nipples face vertically (up/down)?

Which direction do your nipples face horizontally (left/right)?

Shape

What bra types do you desire at the present time?

Select as many as you wish.

What bra do you currently wear on a regular basis?

Please include the manufacturer, style and size.

What, if anything, bothers you about your current bra and the way that it fits?

If you're happy, simply say so. Common answers include pain in the shoulder straps, shifting or rising band in the back, odd gaps in certain places, falling out of the bottom, painful underwires, straps falling off shoulders.
